Our Warehouse volunteers play an important role in helping us get food ready for our markets and the communities we serve. Volunteers help sort, organize and pack food items, supporting our work to make affordable, healthy food more accessible and reduce food waste.

What You Need to Know

1. Location: Quest Warehouse (2030 Dundas St, Vancouver)
2. Days: Volunteer shifts are available Monday to Friday only. There are no weekend shifts for this role.
3. Shift Length: Shifts are generally four hours long, with morning shifts from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and afternoon shifts from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm.
4. Volunteer Responsibilities: Tasks include sorting, organizing, lifting, handling and packing food items for distribution to Quest markets.
   1. Sorting & Building Pallets: separating and organizing food items for distribution
   2. Composting: ensuring food waste is properly managed and diverted sustainably
   3. Cardboard Disposal: breaking down cardboard boxes and operating the baler
   4. Cleaning: maintaining a clean and safe working environment for all.
5. Physical Requirements: This role involves standing, moving food items and lifting and carrying items weighing 50 lbs or more. Reasonable accommodations can be discussed.
6. Client Interaction: This is a warehouse-based volunteer role and does not involve direct interaction with Quest market clients.
7. Commitment: We ask individual volunteers to commit to their shift(s). Volunteers who can attend more frequently are welcome.
8. Age Requirement: All individual volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
