As the year draws to a close, we reflect on a year of profound impact in our mission to disrupt the cycles of food insecurity – thanks to you and our community of supporters! Together, in 2025, we helped provide a grocery experience built on dignity, access, and sustainability for over 10,000 clients across Metro Vancouver.
Our Impact This Year
Over the past 12 months, your generous support has provided:
- A Lifeline for Families: 70% of our clients rely on Quest for most of their groceries
- Access: Most clients visit our markets at least once a week, with those using our Hastings market in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside shopping daily
- Environmental Stewardship: Working with over 100 food partners, we prevented more than $4.6 million worth of good food from going to waste
- A Trusted Resource: 94% of our Referring Partners feel confident recommending Quest to people in need
We are incredibly proud that the measurable difference we’re making together for those facing food insecurity was recognized by Charity Intelligence Canada, which named Quest a Top 5 Vancouver Impact Charity in 2025.
Of course, we can’t reflect on 2025 without mourning the loss of our Surrey Market, which was destroyed by fire in the summer, leaving many clients without access to their weekly groceries and others having to travel much further to our other four market locations.
Meeting the Need in 2026
Our clients, ranging from young adults to seniors and parents, consistently prioritize fresh protein, eggs, milk, and vegetables. However, many still face significant barriers, including disability and transportation challenges, which make Quest’s diverse market locations and 6-day-a-week opening hours essential to meet their food needs.

- Providing more nutrition education and recipes
- Maintaining our average client experience rating of 9 out of 10
- Building a plan to fill the service gap left by the loss of our Surrey Market
