Transition at Quest: Honouring Theo Lamb’s Impact

After several years of dedicated service, Theodora (Theo) Lamb will be stepping down from her role as Executive Director this fall.

“Quest has prospered under Theo’s guiding voice and vision. The board extends it’s gratitude and heart-felt thanks to her for all that she has brought to the organization, and wishes her all the best on what’s next.”

– Peter Brasso, Quest Board Chair

Since joining Quest, Theo has guided the organization through a period of meaningful growth, renewal, and modernization. Under her leadership, Quest has strengthened its operations, expanded partnerships across the food sector, and launched new initiatives such as Quest Essentials and Safe Spaces that extend our impact and deepen community connection. Under Theo’s leadership, Quest launched its inaugural Cost of Groceries Report, moved and re-established our new grocery market in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, and – alongside our Board of Directors – launched our new three-year Strategic Plan.

Theo ensured Quest’s 10,000+ clients were invited to attend a new week-long client appreciation event held every spring and participate in our now-annual client survey, the results of which are shared publicly across our markets and partners.

Theo also led Quest’s Referral Modernization Project, which connected more than 700 community partners and social service agencies through a stronger, more accessible digital referral process. The new system streamlined client approvals and helped people access the healthy, affordable groceries they needed faster and with greater dignity.

Her thoughtful leadership and commitment to collaboration have positioned Quest as a key partner in advancing food security and dignity across Metro Vancouver.

“It has been a profound honour to serve as Executive Director of Quest. I am deeply proud of the work we’ve done to strengthen systems of food access and build meaningful partnerships across this sector. Quest’s mission of ensuring people facing economic barriers have dignified access to healthy, affordable food remains as urgent and important as ever. I’m confident the organization is in strong hands and well-positioned to continue leading this essential work.”

The Board of Directors has established a Transition Committee to guide next steps, including interim leadership and recruitment for Quest’s next Executive Director. During this period, Quest’s senior management team will continue to lead daily operations and advance the organization’s mission under the leadership of Interim Executive Director, Sam Hamilton.

On behalf of the Board and staff, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Theo for her leadership, vision, and deep care for the Quest community.

We also thank our partners, supporters, and volunteers for your continued trust and collaboration as Quest moves confidently into its next chapter.
